ME-TIME

Perfect your night-time haircare routine

SalonLab&Me

We tend to have a night-time routine for our skin and yet we our often overlook the opportunity to nourish our hair in the same way. Different hair types have different needs, and it's important to understand your hair and what works for you.

Discover our night-time rituals that will help you protect and nourish your hair for softer, more radiant hair by morning. After all, our hair is important, and taking care of it can boost how we see and feel about ourselves during the day.

"Give your hair the beauty sleep it needs."

Here are a few tips to help protect your hair while you sleep:

1.

Brush your hair before bed

Brushing your hair before bedtime is an essential first step to your night-time routine. Brushing helps to detangle your hair and evenly distribute the natural oils from your roots to the ends. Go gently with your strokes, it's best to start at the bottom and work your way up. This smooths and detangles the strands, preventing knots and hair breakage. Use a wide-tooth comb to remove knots and tangles if your hair is damp.

2.

Sleep with dry hair

Washing your hair in the evening is a perfect way to unwind after a long day; you don’t need to rush and can take your time with your SalonLab&Me personalised Shampoo and Conditioner. However, your hair is at its most fragile when it's wet and sleeping with wet hair can leave it vulnerable to breakage.

You can either gently towel dry your hair before you sleep and leave to naturally dry or use a SalonLab&Me Spray Conditioner gently blow-drying your hair to detangle and prevent damage that may occur whilst sleeping.

3.

Use your SalonLab&Me Intense Care Mask

Treat yourself and your hair to the ultimate pamper with your SalonLab&Me Intense Care Mask. With deeply nourishing ingredients and designed just for you, it will help restore and replenish your hair before bedtime.

After you have washed your hair gently squeeze out any excess water before you apply your SalonLab&Me Intense Care Mask. Starting from the lengths to the ends of your hair, work the mask treatment into your strands, make sure the product covers your hands before application to achieve an even layer. Once the mask has been applied, run a comb through your hair to make sure it is equally distributed. Finally, secure your strands into a loose bun and cover with a hair cap or towel, sit back and relax and leave for up to 10 minutes. For an extra touch of luxury, apply a face mask for added relaxation. Gently rinse out the mask and ensure your hair has dried before going to bed.

4.

Tie your hair loosely

Just like the rest of your body, your hair needs to recover and repair while you sleep, and it’s a little difficult to breathe when your hair is tied up too tight. Tie your hair loosely at night to avoid damage by pulling on the roots. If you like a wavy or curly look, you can create a heatless hairstyle by loosely braiding your hair before bed and letting it set overnight. It’s one of the most popular protective hairstyles to wear to sleep.

5.

Use a silk pillowcase

Switching to a silk pillowcase can help keep your hair in good shape while you sleep. Investing in a silk pillowcase helps to reduce frizz and prevents hair fall and damage. Additionally, your hair won't get caught and break on silk as it can on cotton threads, making for a more peaceful and luxurious sleeping experience.

Maximise your beauty sleep!

By taking a few extra measures at night and incorporating haircare into your evening beauty routine, you can ensure that your hair is protected overnight and radiant with health in the day.
